Indie director Liza Johnson chose a curious subject for her first bigger-budget film (though $4 Million is still tiny by Hollywood standards) - a meeting between the King of Rock & Roll and the Leader of the Free World (which would later become the first and to date only US president to resign from office) that almost no one knew about until two decades after the fact. The Smithsonian has a nice article about the Elvis/Nixon get-together in the White House, and those who saw the film last night can confirm that the film pretty accurately recounts what those involved remember. Everything else, of course, is speculation, and the writers make sure, that the tone of "Elvis & Nixon" always remains firmly on the light side.

So, did you enjoy "Elvis & Nixon"? How did you like the two former "Superman" villains - Michael Shannon and Kevin Spacey - in the title roles? Please drop us a few lines here in the forum; you don't have to scribble anything on a piece of paper while in flight to Washington D.C.
