Andrew Legge, the irish director and co-writer (with Angeli Macfarlane) of "Lola" is no stranger to stories about inventors and their weird inventions. In fact, his short films "The Chronoscope", "The Girl with the Mechanical Maiden" and "The Unusual Inventions of Henry Cavendish" all dealt with this subject. This time the invention is the titular "Lola", which is a device that enables you to watch and listen to broadcasts from the future. What could go wrong with such an apparatus. Well, many things, as can be seen in the trailer:
And how did you enjoy this probably shortest film of the year? How did you deal with his his decision to make the film look like it was assembled from 1930/40s found footage? How about the shakycam? And how about the performances, most notably be Emma Appleton und Stefanie Martini as the sisters his created "Lola"?
