"The Electrical Life of Louis Wain" the the directorial sneak debut of actor/filmmaker Will Sharpe, who also co-wrote the screenplay along with Simon Stephenson (who also contributed to the story of Pixar's "Luca"). As might be guessed from the title, it chronicles the weird life of illustrator/graphic artists Louis Wain, who today is most famous for his caricatures of cats in normal - human - situations. The film itself was produced in a rather odd 4:3 aspect ratio, though that's not the only odd thing about Louis Wain, as can be seen in the trailer:
How did you like this fairy-like tale about a man with a grip on cats like no one else, but not much grip on anything else? How about the performances by Benedict Cumberbatch as Louis Wain himself, Claire Foy as his love interest Emily, and Andrea Riseborough as his disapproving sister Caroline? How did you like the aspect ratio and the cinematography which more than once mimics painting styles of the 19th and 20th century. Let us know what you thought of the film in a reply to this post.
