"Stuber" isn't the first comedy written by American Tripper Clancy, but it's the first english-language one. Clancy to my knowledge has written a number of scripts for US studios, but hadn't so far seen any of them produced. He already has two movies to his credit, though, just german ones. We wrote the screenplays for the remake "Vier gegen die Bank" and the action comedy "Hot Dog", both starring Til Schweiger. Having caught parts of "Hot Dog" while zapping through pay TV, I can attest that "Stuber" is not that different in combining bickering stars with lots of flying bullets. "Stuber" was a spec script (which means that the author wrote it without being under contract with a studio) which Fox bought three years ago, as a director, they hired Canadian Michael Dowse, whose previous rom com "What If" (also called "The F Word") with Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan was sneaked back in spring 2015.
Here's the trailer for "Stuber":
How did you like the movie, starring Dave Bautista of "Guardians of the Galaxy" fame, and Kumail Nanjiani (the "The Big Sick" star and co-author who will appear in Marvel movie "The Eternals" soon)? How about the story about a chauffeur roped into helping a cop bring down a crime lord? Just write your thoughts about "Stuber" into a reply to this post. Oh, and you of course can rate the movie from zero to five stars on our home page.
