"Lamb" is the debut feature film of icelandic native Valdimar Jóhannsson who prevously worked as an electrician and special effects technician on films such as #0920 "Prometheus" and "Oblivion". The screenplay was written by himself and accomplished author Sjón; as for the casting, he mostly used local actors, including Hilmir Snær Guðnason and Björn Hlynur Haraldsson as brothers Ingvar and Pétur - but for the lead Maria, he turned to Swedish actress (and international film star) Noomi Rapace, who as a child lived in Iceland for a few years. The film - which was presented to Sneakers in Icelandic with English subtitles - was actually very sparse on dialog, which is also apparent in the trailer:
And how did you like the film, which mostly consisted of static slow scenes set in front of iconic Icelandic landscapes? How did you like the performances? And how were the subtitles? Let's us know what you thought of "Lamb" in a reply to this posting. Oh, and Gleðilegt nýtt ár
